Small Batch Specials: new brews on tap from 8th June!

Each month our Brewmasters, alongside brewing up all of our core range of beers, take time to create something just a little bit different. These are our Small Batch Specials – a one-off tank of beer made to offer something which you just can’t find anywhere else. Seeing as it’s only one tank though, when it’s gone it’s gone so if you like the sound of this month’s brews then don’t dally…

On tap this month we have:

Rhubarb Gose – 3.8%

Brewed for warm weather by Simon in Bristol, this low-ABV sour is perfect for sitting out in the sunshine with. Brewed with Lager and Wheat malts, a deft touch of Hüll Melon hops, rhubarb and its extract and given a clean, sour kick by lactobacillus in the fermentation. Refreshing and fruity, this is a light beer for summer days and goes well with seafood and salads – does very well on its own as a session beer too of course…

San Diego Pale Ale – 5.3%

Coming straight outta Reading, this month’s special is a tribute to the West Coast way of brewing. Pours a nice dark golden almost amber colour with ample carbonation.  Has some malt backbone but is lighter than our core Pale Ale.  Clean, crisp bitterness but still easy drinking.  Aromas of tangerine citrus, resin, and herbal dankness are evident and abundant thanks to a serious hopping with Amarillo and Mosaic.

Hoppy Session Lager – 4.2%

Another one inspired by the change in the weather and made for easy long days – it has a punchy, hoppy character typical from IPA’s and bitter, clean yeast flavour with fruity American Hops. Biscuity layers of malt provide the back bone and Lager yeast a generous and refreshing dry finish.
