PIZZA AND PROSECCO: The perfect pairing

With Valentines Day just around the corner, it got us thinking about our favourite pairs. After a heated debate with our head brewer (who couldn’t face tucking into his dinner with anything other than a cold pint of pilsner) and a chef who’s favourite meal is always accompanied with a red, it was clear that we just could not agree.

After getting the rest of the team involved, it seemed Prosecco was the flavour of the month in the Blackheath restaurant, so we thought it was time for a food matching session.

So, we’ve popped a few bottles and rustled up some of our favourite meals to see which dishes really pop when paired with Prosecco, here’s the low down:

SALMON & MASCARPONE PIZZA: Smoked salmon and Prosecco is a matched made in heaven, right? This posh nosh is topped off nicely with mascarpone, smoked cheese, fresh tomatoes, rocket, dill & garlic cream sauce

LOBSTER BISQUE MUSSELS: This decadent kilo pot is made with coconut milk & lobster sauce making for a creamy, balanced  bowl which Processo is easily able to cut through

BLACK TRUFFLE RAVIOLONI: We couldn’t choose our favourites without getting a pasta involved. This dish is indulgence at it’s best. Nutty, earthy flavours from the truffles are able to shine with the subtle prosecco back drop.

If you fancy trying any of our recommended pairings, or choosing your own dish to pair with a bottle of bubbly, you can! We still have space for Valentines day, so why not treat a loved one to the food and prosecco pairing revolution!
